Thomas Tillman Bespoke's process stays true to traditional tailoring methods while adding a modern approach. Each client’s pattern is created from scratch and cut to their unique measures. Discrete variances in each client’s posture, build, and stance are meticulously uncovered and transferred to the bespoke pattern. from this pattern, Philadelphia's finest suits are created.

The beauty of bespoke tailoring is the symphony played out between the client and the tailor. Every vision the client has, every sartorial request that emanates from their soul, the tailor can bring into reality. The Bespoke Process below will explain the steps you will take to reach the destination of sartorial satisfaction.

Initial Consultation and garment design

The goal of this first appointment is to understand you, our client. We uncover details such your style, color preferences, and what type of event info you are having the garment created for.  This is not a hurried process. We encourage you to linger in this creative moment, get lost in the ocean of fabric samples, as this evokes sartorial ideas that often surprise our many satisfied customers. With our guidance, we will help you select from some of the finest cloth in the world from mills in England, Ireland, Switzerland and Italy, including our private stock of cloth.

From there, you’ll select also the stylistic details that will set your garment apart from the rest. These will include lapels, vents, pockets, buttons, linings, etc. Among the myriad of customizations available are jacket stitching options, sleeve buttons, pipping, vents, pocket styles, button holes, lapels, linings and more. Shirt customizations include buttons, cuffs, lapels, color of the thread, and more. TTB specializes in pants and these can be expressed  uniquely with details such as waist band size, belt loops, pockets, linings and even and zipper colors .With their creativity unleashed our clients can navigate the breadth of customizations and design a singular garment, uniquely theirs, and worthy of our motto, BE CUSTOM, NOT CUSTOMARY!

Measurements and Fittings

Your sartorial vision demands proper execution. Thomas Tillman Bespoke delivers. Taking over 25  individual measurements, we will thoroughly assess your posture and determine how to accentuate your best features. Bespoke tailoring offers this advantage that would never be possible in ready-to-wear styles. 

Full-bespoke garments require several fittings. Across the multiple fittings is where you’ll see the garment really start to take shape – literally. During this stage you will see your suit with measured and trimmed down to size… your exact size. Input from our clients is crucial during the fittings stage. Paying attention to things like the jacket’s overall length and whether the cut of the chest and arm holes allow for comfortable movement will help us to create the precise fit you desire. 

Delivery, and aftercare

The day arrives. Your custom garment is ready. Thoman Tillman Bespoke delivers. Two decades of craftsmanship stand behind every stitch of every garment created.  A final try on ensures the garment's fit. Your satisfaction is 100% guaranteed. We'll make any adjustments to ensure your clothes are perfect. You will learn how to best care for your custom clothing and also receive hand matched recommendations for accessories to perfectly compliment your new items. Let the oohs and aahs begin!

However, the Thomas Tillman Bespoke journey doesn't end with the delivery of your tailor made garment. Our goal is to ensure your impeccably tailored garments stay that way for many years to come. With this in mind we have our own garment aftercare service. This thorough process includes alterations, pressing and any necessary repairs, extending the life of your luxury tailored garment.
